Pull out the retaining knob and turn it a quarter of a turn to lock it out. Now take the adjusting wheel and spin it in by hand. You're going to use the wrench now, and you're going to use it in a specific way. You're going to put one of the studs in a hole, and the other stud will go on top of the wheel and you turn. This will give you the quickest adjusting with the wrench. You're going to tighten this very tight, tighter than you think it needs to be, because it's going to loosen up a little bit as you start to cut with the cutter.

You don't want this speed plate moving around too much. The reason you don't want that is this probably isn't exactly in the center. So if you start rotating this, the center moves. You don't want the center to move, but wants to stay in the same place.
