It is possible to cut steel reinforcing with the Mr. Manhole cutter. It takes patience and a bit of technical know how. The operator must apply a little up pressure as the cutter slowly peels away layers of the steel. The concrete cuts much faster than steel so if you apply normal down pressure you will soon be impacting the sides of the steel reinforcing. These repeated impacts will damage the carbide sections of the teeth.
