How does the Speedplate lift the manhole frame and road overcut?

The key shaped hole and the lifting pin on the Guideshaft work together to lift the frame from the road, When the lift pin is located transverse to the key shaped hole the guideshaft cannot be removed from the Speedplate. To release, simply turn the lift key until it aligns with the key shaped hole.
